I will be adding to the resource list over time, so please feel free to check back in here anytime. Once you have finished this class you are always welcome back.

Books

For all book recommendations I would like to suggest that if you can, order books through your local brick and mortar bookstore. They are struggling, and if you love the feeling of browsing in a funky independent bookstore with the possibility of shop cats, plants, and the smell of coffee, and real live people who love to give reading suggestions, the only way to keep these places alive is to buy books from them. If you cannot buy from a local bookstore here is a list of online sites with better ethics than Amazon.

A Different Medicine: Postcolonial Healing in the Native American Church by Joseph D. Calabrese

•  Who Owns Native Culture by Michael F. Brown

Talking About The Elephant by Lupa - this book explores cultural appropriation mainly in relation to neo-paganism, but also touches on things like tarot and other adjacent practices. It is a collection of essays by different authors and as such, some are more relevant and thoughtful than others - much of what we find in this book can be easily applied to practicing healing arts from different cultures.
